Desert Afterglow captures the dramatic beauty of the American Southwest at sunset, where towering cacti, distant mountains, and rugged desert terrain are illuminated by the final warmth of the day. Expressive palette-knife work and luminous color give the panoramic landscape a vibrant contemporary character.

A tall saguaro cactus rises prominently near the right side of the composition, creating a distinctive silhouette against the glowing sky. Smaller desert plants and scattered cacti extend across the foreground, reinforcing the openness and scale of the landscape.
