Fields of Ease is a hand-painted abstract landscape oil painting that brings together open fields, dark foliage, and a softly colored sky. Broad passages of peach, green, and pale blue create a fresh interpretation of the countryside within a balanced square composition.
A generous peach sky fills the upper portion of the canvas. Its warm, spacious surface gives the landscape an inviting atmosphere and allows the more concentrated colors below to stand out.
Pale blue sweeps across the upper left, meeting the peach in long, uneven strokes. A deeper blue passage stretches beneath it, introducing a cooler note and a subtle sense of movement through the sky.
Along the left side, dense green forms suggest a gathering of trees. Their irregular edges and nearly black shadows provide a strong visual anchor against the lighter background.
Farther into the scene, a low turquoise ridge extends across the right. Its softened contour establishes distance while maintaining the painting’s loose, simplified approach to the landscape.
The middle ground unfolds through bands of grass green, olive, and ochre yellow. These broad color areas suggest cultivated fields and open land without relying on small descriptive details.
A pale, winding passage travels from the center toward the lower foreground. Suggesting a country path, it creates an inviting route through the composition and connects the distant fields with the viewer’s position.
White and cream strokes brighten this passage as it curves between the greens. Their sweeping direction gives the lower canvas a gentle flow that balances the horizontal arrangement of the distant landscape.
Small dark marks on the right suggest another cluster of vegetation. Their placement echoes the larger trees on the left, bringing balance to the open middle distance.
The foreground combines pale yellow, peach, and green in overlapping blocks. Some edges are softly blended, while others retain the broken finish of a brush drawn across an underlying layer.
Visible brush ridges and scraped passages give the surface a tactile character. Changes in pressure and direction remain part of the image, adding energy to its broad, uncluttered forms.
From across a room, Fields of Ease offers a clear arrangement of warm sky and green land. Closer viewing reveals fine streaks, exposed layers, and subtle shifts between cream, mint, olive, and earthy gold.
Its square format works comfortably in a living room, bedroom, dining area, or entryway. The open sky gives the composition breathing room, while the deeper greens provide enough contrast to establish a distinct focal point.
The palette pairs naturally with oak furniture, linen upholstery, and woven accessories. Peach or ochre textiles can echo its warmer passages, while cream walls and muted green accents create a quieter, coordinated setting.
Modern organic, transitional, and relaxed country interiors complement the painting’s expressive countryside subject. Its combination of spacious color and confident brushwork brings warmth and a sense of openness to everyday surroundings.
Each painting is individually hand-painted, allowing subtle variations in brushwork, texture, and color transitions that make every artwork unique.

ARTIST PROFILE
Born 1990, NIGERIA
Kemi Adebayo is a contemporary African artist whose work is rooted in emotion, identity, and personal narrative. Through bold strokes and layered textures, she explores the unspoken experiences that shape human connection and self-expression. Her paintings are driven by instinct rather than precision, allowing movement, rhythm, and raw energy to define each piece. Color plays a central role in her work — not as decoration, but as language, conveying intensity, memory, and voice.
