Open Intervals is a hand-painted abstract oil painting that combines bold cobalt gestures with pale, spacious color fields. White, cream, lavender, and soft aqua provide a luminous setting for yellow, olive, black, and coral accents across a square composition.
An open rectangular outline in blue occupies the center right, establishing the painting’s strongest structural element. Its uneven sides and interrupted edges give this geometric shape an expressive, freely painted character.
The blue changes from broad, substantial strokes into thinner scraped passages. These variations introduce movement within the outline, allowing it to feel integrated with the surrounding marks and layered background.
Inside this loosely defined area, olive-gray shapes gather around a curved white gesture. Their softened contours create a quieter interior space, balanced by concentrated black marks and small flashes of orange-red.
A bright yellow passage appears on the left, extending downward in a broad, irregular stroke. Its warmth counters the dominant blues and gives the composition a second focal area without disrupting the open arrangement.

No. Our paintings are made by hand on canvas, with real brushwork rather than printed reproduction. Depending on the design, our artists may use oils, acrylics, and texture mediums. If you would like exact materials for a specific artwork, please ask before ordering.

Will I see my finished painting before it ships?
Yes. We send photos for your review after painting is complete. You can request minor adjustments before approving the finished work for framing and shipping.
How long does production and delivery take?
Hand-painting and drying generally take 7–14 days. We then send photos for your approval before framing and dispatch. Delivery after dispatch usually takes about 5–7 business days, depending on destination and carrier. Approval changes and transit delays can extend the total timeline, so delivery dates are estimates rather than guarantees.
What if my painting arrives damaged?

the customer service team was wonderful throughout the whole process. After several small changes I’m very happy with the work. However, as the impasto paint is quite thick, I would strongly recommend it is shipped as stretched canvas (like mine was) or the paint will crack if sent rolled.
The item was as described, thought the waves would be thicker in depth, but it looks nice in our LR.
